Everyday brings something knew and one part of this baseball business that is not knew is travel. Early wake-up calls, gas stations to fill the tank up, Rental car stops and then finally that last step of getting thru security to get to your gate and your flight.
My wife has accused me of being annal about the way I travel and the way I pack-especially pack.I always bring more than i need and today for the first time in my 20 years of traveling my bag weighed over the alloted weight of 50 pounds. The girl at Southwest sweet as can be says that will be an extra 25.00 dollars. I exclaimed you gotta be kidding me, she smiled at me and said thank you-that money goes toward our 401K plan.
As I thought about what she said, I was thinking what is wayne krivsky see's this on my expenses a 25 dollar charge for heavy luggage. Now my boss GM Wayne Krivsky is the best boss I've ever had and thats saying alot I have worked with some great people- John Schuerholz, Dayton Moore, Dean Taylor, Paul Snyder, Chuck LaMar, Bart Braun, Dan O'Brien. I think the world of Wayne and his baseball ability. Wayne was trained by the Minnesota Twins and Terry Ryan. In other words he watches the expenses. He has already busted my balls on things I didn't consider big, but whats big in one eyes is small in anothers.
I'm sitting in the Phoenix airport eating a sandwich, I need to run to catch my flight- Julie's picking me up at the Sacramento airport at 9PM home for the night. Back at it tomorrow AZ at SF Giants.
Peace
